MAN Driver App

The MAN Driver App1 is a modern tool that intelligently assists truck drivers in their day-to-day work. With the digital pre-departure check and damage report, the Quick Manual with visual symbol recognition, the MAN Mobile24 breakdown service and MAN Trucker’s World, the MAN Driver app simplifies the day-to-day work of truck drivers and also provides valuable support in the event of a breakdown.

Intelligent networking between the driver’s smartphone and the RIO platform2 allows application-relevant information to be transmitted to the fleet manager. Fleet managers can view these accordingly and transmit them digitally to their preferred MAN workshop in future. But that's just the beginning. The MAN Driver app is continuously enhanced with clever and in the form of automatic app updates.

Overview of the functions

Homescreen Driver App

Pre-departure check – Before departure and whenever required, you the driver can quickly and easily document vehicle damage and defects via the app and access the vehicle’s history. Both the results of the pre-departure check and the identified damage can be viewed by the fleet manager via the RIO platform*, vehicle by vehicle.**

Quick Manual – Drivers can scan selected switches and check lamps in the vehicle (for TGX vehicles manufactured after 2018 and with Euro 6 engines and above) and receive instant information on their function as well as recommended action, both via text display or voice function.

MAN Mobile24 roadside assistance – Drivers can check their current location at any given time via the app. In the event of a breakdown, you can use the app to initiate MAN Mobile24 roadside assistance and status updates will keep you updated as to when roadside assistance will arrive at your location.

MAN Trucker’s World – The app gives drivers access to exciting news from the club and from the truck scene.

Available Languages: German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Polish. Danish, Dutch, Portuguese, Romanian and Czech will be added by the end of 2018.
Requirements: Internet access is required to take full advantage of the MAN Driver app features.

** Without MAN login: 30 days of local data storage. For the data from the digital pre-departure control and damage reporting system to be transmitted to the fleet manager, the fleet manager must register via the MAN Marketplace. In addition, the fleet manager must invite the driver via the user administration. After the driver has accepted the invitation, the fleet manager can view an overview of the results of the pre-departure check via the RIO platform (pre-departure check application). To make the detailed view of the damage report available to the fleet manager and to release the information to the preferred MAN workshop, the “MAN ServiceCare” service (only available in selected countries) must also be booked via the MAN Marketplace. This requires the vehicle to be equipped with a RIO box (on-board telematics module 3). For an extended data history with a storage period of 25 months instead of 10 days, the fleet manager can also book the “MAN Advance” service, which is subject to a fee.

RIO platform

Digital services for the logistics and commercial vehicle sector.

The RIO platform brings together a diverse range of digital services for the entire transport and logistics eco-system. The platform offers digital services for the commercial vehicle sector from manufacturers and partners as well as in-house technology solutions. It can therefore be used to book MAN DigitalServices designed exclusively for your MAN. As a prerequisite, all vehicles must be equipped with the RIO Box*. This gives you centralised access to a wide range of data relating to your fleet.

Once you have registered online, you can book, change or add digital services anytime, anywhere. The RIO Box and the basic MAN Essentials service will be automatically activated free of charge when you register your vehicle. The digital future has already begun, be part of it – get on board.

*RIO Box is standard for MAN EURO 6c trucks as of August 2017; TBM2 is RIO-compatible; for TBM1, please contact the MAN DigitalServices hotline (, 00800 MDIGITAL - 634 448 25) For the MAN TGE, the RIO Box can be optionally ordered from model year 2019.

System requirements

In order to use the digital services, your company and your vehicles must be registered on the RIO platform When you register, data transmission via your RIO Box is activated, thereby enabling the free basic MAN Essentials service. You can then book additional digital services from the MAN marketplace free of charge.


RIO Box: As of 01/08/2017, standard in all Euro 6c MAN Trucks. For the MAN TGE, the RIO Box can be optionally ordered from model year 2019.
On-board telematics module 21: MAN TeleMatics® services will continue to be available in the usual form and via the usual access points until the agreed contract end date. Switch-over to the RIO Platform, either via the MAN Bridge connector or by retrofitting the RIO Box, as preferred.
